What is the Lead Contractors Association?
The Lead Contractors Association is a voluntary UK trade association for specialist contractors working with rolled lead sheet.
Established in 1984, the association promotes workmanship, technical standards and specialist contractor recognition. Current contractor members are vetted, graded and expected to work to applicable technical requirements, including BS 6915.
Membership is not a statutory licence and is not legally required before a contractor can undertake leadwork. However, current membership provides independent association-level benefits that a non-member should not claim.
Membership, qualification and standards compliance are not the same thing

Neal Roofing was previously a contractor member of the Lead Contractors Association.
Following an internal review, the business chose not to renew its voluntary annual membership because the subscription and membership structure no longer aligned sufficiently with its current commercial priorities.
Neal Roofing does not currently claim LCA contractor status, LCA grading or access to the LCA member guarantee scheme.
The business continues to assess and deliver specialist leadwork against the applicable project specification, BS 6915 and BS EN 12588, supported by workforce experience, project evidence, internal quality controls and contractual warranties.
