George Neal establishes the family’s roots in roofing in York, beginning what would become generations of roofing craftsmanship.

Geoff Neal Roofing is established, building on the Neal family roofing tradition and laying the foundations for the business known today.

The current limited company, Geoff Neal (Roofing) Limited, is formally incorporated, continuing the established roofing business.

The company develops beyond traditional domestic roofing into larger commercial, specialist leadwork, heritage and ecclesiastical projects across Yorkshire.

GNR strengthens its reputation for technically demanding roofing, traditional materials, conservation work and listed buildings. The business later became recognised as an NFRC member and Heritage Register contractor.

Following Geoff Neal’s retirement, Oliver Neal takes on the role of Managing Director, continuing the family business into its next generation.

The GNR identity becomes established as the recognisable face of Geoff Neal (Roofing) Limited, delivering residential, commercial, heritage and specialist roofing throughout Yorkshire and the North.
