The code indicates the nominal weight and corresponding thickness of rolled lead sheet. Code 4 is 1.80mm thick, Code 5 is 2.24mm, Code 6 is 2.65mm, Code 7 is 3.15mm and Code 8 is 3.55mm. Higher codes are heavier and generally selected for more demanding details, but the correct choice also depends on bay size, exposure, pitch and installation design.

Is Code 4 or Code 5 lead better for roofing?
