Specialist leadwork, including lead welding.
Joinery to form new roof areas and facilitate compliant installation of the leadwork.
Masonry work to undertake repairs to the chimney stacks.
Project Duration: 10 Weeks
Project Description: Re roofing and repair work to arguably one of York’s most prestigious private dwelling houses.
The roof coverings on the property, made up of Welsh Slates and lead, had reached the end of their useful life.
Further, some previous work, especially to the lead bay roof areas, had been poorly executed.
GNR were engaged to undertake extensive work to address the following:

Re roofing and replacement leadwork to all elevations of the main house.
Improvements to the insulation levels to all areas of the main house.
Repairs to the chimney stacks on the main roof areas.
Installation of new cast aluminium rainwater goods.
Replacement of all roof areas on the coach house.
Rainwater goods to the Coach House.
Replacement of the lead bay roof coverings to the front elevation.

The scheme was comprehensive and the client was happy to be guided through the process by us. Advice was offered at each stage as to the best solutions for the building.
