|Location:||Kingsway Hotel, Rochdale|
|Materials Used:||Wienerberger Koramic Pottelberg pantiles,
|Project Duration / Client||8 weeks / Samuel Smith’s Brewery|
|Project Description:||One of our most interesting jobs of recent times was at this hotel on the outskirts of Rochdale for Samuel Smith’s Brewery.
The remit was to use new pantiles to match the existing; however, these cost around £7.00 each with ridges that cost £15.00 each. With over 7,500 tiles on the roof, this was a job that required absolutely care and precision not just when fitting (a few broken tiles certainly would have added up), but when pricing the job in the first instance.
Once the tiles actually arrived on site (quite the ordeal as they were made in the Netherlands and glazed in Belgium with various hiccups en route) the job itself was a simple as it gets for chaps of our experience. They just needed to be especially cautious with over £50,000’s worth of tiles!
A beautiful result with tiles supplied by Smith Brook Products, who are experts in this sort of tiling work.
