|Project Description:||One of our skilled teams undertook this project for a previous client from a York Based firm of surveyors manages a property for Jackson Stops and Staff in York. A section of the building needed a roof area replacing. Some of our Slating experts and specialist leadworkers from GNR were engaged to undertake the work on this small but intricate roof area.
The successful execution of the project involved some traditional slating using second hand welsh slates and detailed leadwork. Further, consideration had to be given to the location and the fact that there were a number of overhanging trees. The lead gutter linings were increased in size to cope with blockages and allow for ease of maintenance. Moreover, lead details were introduced to clad a gable coping to prevent water penetration and damage to the masonry from saplings growing out of the damp masonry.
In conclusion, a small but intricate roof area executed over a 4 week contract period. The finished product is both in keeping with the historic building and its location in the shadow of York Minster.
