The Project

This project involved the replacement of the degraded copper roof of the clock tower on Easingwold’s town hall. The existing copper sheet roof was carefully removed and exposed areas were cleaned down to assess the condition of the timber substrates. Once the necessary timber repairs were completed, a new copper sheet roof was installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. Alongside these works, lead detailing and external redecoration to the clock face were completed to return the clock tower to its former glory. With time, the copper sheet will gradually oxidise blending in with the age and heritage of the building.
