How Neal Roofing Operated During Coronavirus COVID-19
During the Coronavirus COVID-19 period, customers still needed roofs to remain weatherproof and safe. Where work could continue, Neal Roofing adapted its normal process to reduce unnecessary contact while keeping customers informed about surveys, quotations and planned works.
Roof inspections could often be arranged without the homeowner standing alongside the surveyor. Customers could provide photographs, access information and details of leaks in advance. Where a site visit was required, the inspection could then focus on the relevant roof areas before the findings and quotation were sent electronically.
Reactive roofing also remained important because active leaks can damage ceilings, insulation, timber and internal finishes. Emergency repair teams therefore continued to respond where it was safe and permitted to do so. The aim was to make roofs secure while following the Government guidance and working practices that applied at the time.
Communication was also moved towards phone and email wherever possible. This reduced unnecessary face-to-face contact while allowing customers to discuss access, repair priorities, quotations and programme changes with the Neal Roofing team.
Working practices changed as official guidance changed
The measures described on this page relate to the period in which the original notice was issued. Requirements and public-health advice changed during the pandemic, so this archive should not be used as current operational or medical guidance.
