Do you need planning permission for a Velux Window?
You will not normally require any planning permission for the majority of roof windows and skylights. However there is an exception if they meet any of the following;
- Protrude more than 150mm above the existing roof pane.
- Are higher than the ridge of the roof
- Are installed to the side of a building without obscure glazing
- Are openable under 1.7m above the floor
- Are in a building under Article 4 direction
